People who are required to be tested as part of their company policy

Is COVID-19 Testing Free?

It depends on the type of test performed.

Viral Test

A viral test proves if a person currently has COVID-19. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) requires people to take the viral test if they show the virus’s symptoms or if they have been exposed to people with COVID-19. However, if you’re undergoing special treatments other than COVID-19-related problems, your doctor may require you to take a viral test before undergoing treatment.

As per CDC and the CARES Act, the viral test is free of charge regardless of immigrant status.

Antibody Test

An antibody test is a test used to detect if a person has acquired COVID-19 previously. This test works by checking a specific antibody created to beat COVID-19. Once a person recovers from COVID-19, the body’s immune system has developed an antibody that targets COVID-19. Hence, an antibody test won’t tell if you’re currently infected.

The antibody test is not free. However, people enrolled in Medicare can get an antibody test for free. In the case of other insurance companies, prices may vary.

COVID-19 Testing for Frontline, Healthcare Workers

Medical front liners are exposed greatly to the COVID-19 virus, especially when they’re attending to COVID-19 positive patients. If you’re a frontline worker, being positive puts you, your patients, customers, and co-workers at risk. It’s best to ask your employer for company-specific guidelines regarding COVID-19 testing. The best option is that you perform self-quarantine after the COVID-19 test so that doctors can attest that you acquired the virus before the test, not after it.

Call us now at 833-935-9355 or email us at info@wellhealthworks.com to get started with convenient drive-thru covid-19 testing for you, your loved ones, and your workforce.
